Overberg is indeed a beautiful place to travel through and aside from the obvious it will be remiss to not include a section on the amazing nature reserves found within this region.  The reserves are popular with hikers and mountain bikers with each one offering something unique.  All the reserves offer day hikes with only some offering overnight hikes with accommodation.

All the nature reserves within the Overberg have an amazing array of fynbos.  The reserves are established to conserve the fynbos including many rare and endemic plants.  The added bonus of visiting these reserves is they are often hiding a wondrous animal and bird life – delightful for those twitchers who travel great distances to see rare birds.
