Skarlien Liebenberg welcomes you to Acorn Cottages, situated in the heart of the stunning Cathkin Valley, Central Drakensberg.

Enjoy the heavenly scenery all around you from the peace and privacy of your cottage or suite.  Look up at the imposing Drakensberg Mountain peaks of Champagne Castle and Cathkin Peak with nearby access to the peaks of Cathedral Peak, the majestic Amphitheatre at Royal Natal National Park, Injisuthi and Giants Castle.

You have the best of both worlds – peace and quiet and a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, but close to all the hiking trails, adventure activities, shows, restaurants, etc.  Spend your time relaxing in your cosy and private cottage or suite, each with its own fireplace and braai or around the rock pool. Take a short walk down to the river, past the two ponds or take a short drive to any of the various activities around us.

Local activities include the Drakensberg Boys Choir and the birds of prey show at Falcon Ridge.

The sport lover can play golf, bowls, tennis and various other sport events in the area.

The Cathkin Valley is the playground for the adventurous person. Canopy tours, horse riding, mountain biking, quad biking, white water rafting and many other activities are available.

The Drakensberg Mountain is however about hiking.  With Acorn Cottages as base, you have access to the paths and trails in the Cathkin Peak, Cathedral Peak, Royal Natal National Park, Injisuthi and Giants Castle regions.  

If country life is for you, Acorn Cottages is the place to visit and your host will advise you on all the activities available. Acorn Cottages is both family-friendly and pet-friendly.


PET-FRIENDLY B&B AND SELF CATERING ACCOMMODATION IN WINTERTON, KZN

All our accommodation is different and we try to accommodate all our guests, be it in family-friendly two bedroom cottages, a quaint Rose Cottage which is our honeymoon suite, or luxury suites and rooms for couples only.  With fireplaces for cold winter nights and fans in the summer, they are fully equipped for self-catering however breakfast is always an option.  All rooms have TV, en-suite bathrooms and braai facilities.  There is a stunning rock pool, where views are wide and stupendous and you look straight up onto Mount Champagne and Cathkin.
